Day 1: Arrival in Beijing

On the first day, your group will arrive in the capital of Beijing. After being picked up from the airport, you will arrive at your hotel and have time to rest.

Day 2: Explore Beijing – Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, Tiananmen Square and Hutong

After waking up in the hotel in Beijing and preparing for the day’s activities, our group will set of to visit Beijing’s iconic Tiananmen square and the Forbidden City in the morning and then the Temple of Heaven that afternoon. These destinations showcase the vast history of the city, with some of them dating back to China’s antiquity while others being representations of contemporary China.

Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to visit a Beijing Hutong, or ancient alley. This destination is a typical example of the sprawling ancient city alleys, with some of Beijing’s Hutongs spanning back to the Yuan, Ming or Qing Dynasty.

Day 3: Explore Beijing – The Great Wall of China

The third day of activities in Beijing will include one of China’s most iconic monuments, the Great Wall. The section we will visit, Mutianyu, is much less crowded than some of the more touristy portions of the wall. This portion offers a variety of different options to view, the most notable being either by cable-car or by climbing 1000 steps to witness the breathtaking view

This section of the wall was commissioned and constructed during China’s northern dynasties in the mid-6th century. The wall underwent extensive restoration during the Ming dynasty (1368-1644) and served as one of Beijing’s main lines of defense since ancient times.

Day 4: Depart to Xi’an

After waking up early in the morning, we will depart to the ancient capital of Xi’an by high speed train. This innovative mode of transport is an exciting experience for any western traveler and will prove to be a comfortable and convenient experience.

After arriving in Xi’an, our group will go to our hotel accommodation to drop of our luggage and become settled. Afterwards, we will spend the rest of the day exploring the scenic city life in Xi’an before returning to the hotel to sleep.

Day 5: The Terracotta Warriors

After waking up, our group will set off to enjoy the exciting history of China’s first emperor and his massive Terracotta army. Even though this monument was constructed almost two thousand years ago, it wasn’t until the late 20th century that the tomb was discovered. As a result, there is still much mystery surrounding this ancient army.

In addition to the Terracotta warriors, our group will visit Xi’an’s impressive city wall and expansive Muslim district before heading to the train station. Take the high speed train and arrive in Chengdu after 3 hours’ journey.

Day 6 – Wolong Panda breeding center and Mount Siguniang

We will visit the premier breeding and research facility for the protection of the Giant Panda in Wolong.

After touring the Panda park to view these playful giants in their natural habitat, we will continue traveling deeper into the Tibet region. As we delve farther into Kham, you will watch as the cultural atmosphere begins to shift to a Tibetan aesthetic. The mountain sides will gradually become populated with more and more prayer flags and monuments such as Buddhist temples and stupas will become more common.

Enjoy an easy tour to the Mt Siguniang, the oriental Alps. After visiting the National Park, we will drive to the nearby town of Rilong to stay in a local guesthouse for the night.

Day 7 – Rilong to the Tibetan village of Zhonglu

After waking up in our homestay in Rilong, we will begin our 3 hour drive farther west into the Tibetan region. Our destination will be the Tibetan village of Zhonglu, a rural agricultural community with a distinct cultural aesthetic and colorful history. After receiving a warm welcome from a local homestay owner in the village and eating a home cooked lunch at our accommodation, we will begin exploring the village. During this time, our group will have the opportunity to learn more about the unique history of the villages ancient trail system.

Days 8   One day tour in the Tibetan Village Danba Zhonglu

You will have many opportunities to experience the local Tibetan culture through a variety of activities that the community members will invite us to join in. We will learn to create local embroidery pieces and handicrafts with the instruction of local community members as well as traditional dance lessons and singing performances.

 Day 9 – Relax in Chengdu

After waking early in the morning and departing from our homestay accommodation in Zhonglu, our group will return to the capital of Sichuan providence, Chengdu. Enjoy a free evening.

Day 10 – Departure from Chengdu

Day Fifthteen- Depart from Hong Kong

On the morning of our final day in Hong Kong, you will have one last opportunity to say goodbye to China before departing from the Hong Kong international airport.
