HALF DAY CYCLING : ITINERARY AND ROUTE DESCRIPTION
9:00 am Meet the guide and join a pre-departure briefing from your guide at Dragon Expeditions’ office building where our best mountain bikes are kept. Learn the local traffic rules and customs to keep you and others safe.
9:10 am Time to hit the road. Pedal along Wuhouci Main Street, passing Jinli Ancient Street and Wuhou Memorial Temple, dedicated to the legendary Chinese sage Zhuge Liang from Three Kingdoms.
9:30 am The first stop is People’s Park. Follow your guide and walk around the park. Discover how local seniors spend their morning, playing musical instruments, singing traditional songs, playing Chinese chess, practicing Tai chi. They won’t hesitate to welcome you to join their activities.
9:30 am Cycle your way along Funan River The next stop Wang Jiang Park is 7km southeastwards.
10:30 am Wander the teahouses of Wang Jiang (River View) bamboo park, home to many varieties of bamboo and almost as many varieties of personal services ranging from a shoulder massage from a blind masseur to getting your shoes polished or your portrait painted to even getting your ears picked – a uniquely weird (and tickly) part of Chengdu culture.
10:50 am Soak up the atmosphere with some jasmine tea with the friendly locals. The Locals mostly pass the time in teahouses playing Mahjong or card – or having a snooze. In traditional Chinese culture, tea drinking is considered a refined activity and tea-culture is synonymous with refinement. Drinking tea goes well with spicy food; if you like we can recommend a typical, Chengdu restaurant frequented by locals.
12:50 pm Ride back to Dragon Expeditions’ office building and return your bikes, gear and let’s go to have a nice short farewell lunch for accomplishing your short eco-friendly adventure in Chengdu . Share your experiences and exchange your ideas among the riders while eating. We have four best popular healthy restaurants near our office.
